Hello my name is Carlos Bernardez Jr. and I am a lead organiser for Look ll Justice at Washington Corrections Center. I’ve been incarcerated for nearly 16 years and have been involved in community organizing for the past 12 years.
My journey began when I was appointed to be the youth committee facilitator for the Black Prisoners Caucus Clallam Bay chapter. Through time I obtained skills that would eventually bless me with the opportunity to help create the T.E.A.C.H. program alongside its founder Kimonti Carter whom is my mentor.
Eventually I would become the first President Of The BPC Stafford Creek chapter. My passion is to grow, develop and encourage people. Chris and Antoine blessed me with an opportunity to be a LO for L2J and my goal is to inform as many individuals as I can about the legislative process and make them aware of the power in their voices.
