My name is Marcus Reed, I’m 36 years old and from Tacoma. Growing up, I was a good kid but made a lot of poor choices and bad decisions that devastated my community and family. This eventually led me to get struck out at the young age of 24.
Recent changes in legislation gave me another chance. With the work I do for LookIIJustice, its my sincere hope to impact others the same way. Generally, I spend my time building for my future while restoring my past, as I help others along the way. My current focus is developing positive peer-led programs in WA prisons, obtaining my AA degree, and helping others to avoid the same mistakes I made.
I’m also a member of the Black Prisoners Caucus and an advocate for positive change. I’m a dedicated father who believes in education and community building through networking, outreach, and social justice. My goal is to be the same person I am here and now, that I would be out in the world.
