Vincent “Tank” Sherrill, son, brother, uncle, comrade, and subject matter expert.

He’s evolved into a prison organizer, mentor, violence disruptor, peacemaker, youth advocate, and freedom fighter.

However, he defines himself as a concrete root activist (i.e. Concrete Root Activism™), a term he coined to describe the work he and others perform under their unnatural condition. He’s a member of the Black Prisoner’s Caucus, and the Concerned Lifers Organization.

He’s trained in the H.E.A.L. curriculum, a 54 week restorative justice process introduced into Washington State Reformatory, in cooperation with inside and outside folx seeking to abolish all forms of violence and oppression (personal and systemic), in order to create a more just society. Vincent is a poet, griot, human developer, and peer to peer educator.

He holds honors from his peers as being an “Ourstorioghapher” (someone who tells our prison stories in prose and poetic form).
